In our headlong rush to integrate Artificial Intelligence into the core functions of the automobile, we have ignored a terrifying fundamental truth: anything that is "smart" is also hackable. By handing over control of steering, braking, and acceleration to AI software, we are transforming our vehicles into high-stakes computers. However, unlike a laptop or a smartphone, a compromised car is a two-ton kinetic weapon. The automotive industry’s obsession with AI has created a massive, distributed attack surface that the global security infrastructure is fundamentally unprepared to defend.

The complexity of modern automotive AI is its greatest vulnerability. A high-end, AI-equipped vehicle contains over 100 million lines of code. In the world of software engineering, there is a direct correlation between the volume of code and the number of "exploits" or bugs. AI introduces a new, specialized class of vulnerability known as "adversarial attacks." Ultimately, the integration of AI into cars is an engineering overreach that prioritizes convenience over safety.
